While Pong Detroit is a great place for anyone to hang out, eat, drink and play pong, we are also committed to our community. Last year we started an inner city Detroit youth table tennis training program at Clark Park. With more space and tables now we will expand the program. Getting kids exercise is important these days and table tennis is a fun, safe, competitive Olympic sport. With our ongoing relationship with the Chinese Table Tennis Federation and the Chinese Consulate, we plan to bring in Chinese coaches to help train our kids. Table Tennis is the national sport of China and their players and coaches are the best in the world. Once our kids progress we will be able to send them to China to play and bring Chinese kids to Detroit to play and tour our great city.
We started a wheelchair table tennis program for the disabled on May 5, 2022. We are also working with the Detroit Council For The Aging to implement a program for seniors.
We will be starting Pong Parkinson's by using ping pong as a form of physical therapy with the goal of halting the progression of Parkinson's Disease.
By coming in and playing pong and enjoying food and drink you help support these programs, and we really appreciate it!
